JULY 21, 2013 – SAFETY IN SOVEREIGNTY – Do you like to be in control? Do you realize that there is actually great freedom in knowing that you are not in control? One of the definitions for ‘sovereignty’ is freedom from external control. God is in complete control and I find great safety in that. The other day a friend of mine talked about a vision that the Lord had given me in 1996, three weeks after I met Leo. She told me that at that time she thought that I was just being fearful and she thought that the Lord would not reveal Leo’s future illness to me. In May 1997 Leo became ill and the prophecy was fulfilled. So, the question is, why would the Lord show me that, and the answer is “Safety”. The Lord was not speaking ‘sickness’ to me but instead the Lord was speaking ‘life’ to me, because He knew that was going to happen in my life. The day I said my vows to Leo, I knew that someday he would be very ill. As I said, “In sickness and in health” I had the peace of God; already knowing. God is sovereign; know that! Sometimes He reveals things to us ahead of time, and sometimes He doesn’t, but either way, no matter what you are facing, God is sovereign and there is great safety in knowing that. You are always safe in the Hands of God – He Controls Life! Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.
