TAKING A MOMENT

AUGUST 16, 2013 – LIGHTEN THE LOAD – Do you ever just stop and laugh for awhile? A very interesting comment was made to me yesterday but first let me set the stage for you. I hit/cut my forehead at work. I had to go to the nurse’s office and was given a butterfly-stitch. My boss took our whole department out to eat for lunch, we were sitting at the restaurant and I was explaining to my co-workers what happened. I told them that when I hit my head a knot instantly appeared, like in a cartoon. One of my co-workers said, “Stacey, you are a cartoon!”  I said, “I can’t help it that I like to smile and laugh! Believe me, I can be very serious.” He said, “You are right. Life is serious enough. We need to laugh.” Laughter lightens the load. Smiling sweetens the soul. I am very serious when I say – Laugh in life! It is so important for your overall health. Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones. (NKJ) Psalms 126:1-3 When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, and we are glad. (NKJ)
