TAKING A MOMENT

SEPTEMBER 2, 2013 – JUST A WHILE – If you knew ahead of time that you had to do something that you did not really enjoy, for just a short amount of time, would you be able to do it? In other words, if you were shown the finish line, just up the road a piece, wouldn’t you most likely finish that race? We, as humans, are so ‘time’ oriented, and along with that we also don’t enjoy hurting; mentally, physically, or spiritually. I mean, who wants to hurt? None of us do but suffering is a part of life. I praise God a million times over that throughout life He shows us different finish lines. When I was younger I was on the track team and I didn’t run in just one race. I ran in hundreds of races throughout my years on the team. We face a lot of short races in life as we walk hand in hand with the Lord. We face suffering in life but these times of suffering are just for a while. “See” the finish line, to the specific race that you are in right now, and know that it is just for a while. Win this race and resist the temptation to walk in your flesh. You can do anything for a while – it will be over soon! 1 Peter 5:10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
