SEPTEMBER 21, 2013 – THE MAN OF GOD – When God speaks do you heed His words? I was at the park yesterday morning during my break, watching the flood waters rise, and reading the Word. The Lord took me to I Kings 13. The sub-heading in my bible says ‘The Man of God’. This is a very interesting real-life story! This man, this prophet, knew what the Lord told him to do but he allowed another man to sway him into doing something different. (this other man, is another whole story, in and of itself) The man of God knew exactly what the Lord told him, but he did not heed the Lord’s instructions. He stepped out in disobedience and his life was taken from him. It’s a very sad story, a very true story, and it is a very powerful story! When you know, without a doubt, what the Lord has spoken, then you must remain obedient. Do not allow someone else to take you off of God’s path. Disobedience takes life from you – Obedience breeds life into you! Exodus 24:7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that the LORD has said we will do, and be obedient.” (NKJ)
