OCTOBER 31, 2013 – FOCUS ON YOU – Is it easier to pick up a speck of something or is it easier to pick up a large piece of something? As I was dust mopping this morning I was realizing just how difficult it is to get every speck of dirt. Actually, it’s almost impossible for me to get every single speck of dirt in a classroom. I immediately thought of this verse: Luke 6:41-42 “And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? “Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.” (NKJ) It’s so easy to look onto someone else’s life and point out their ‘specks’. In my opinion, when we remove the plank that is in our own eye, often times, the specks that are in my brother’s eyes will just disappear. Why? Because when the plank is gone out of my eyes, then I see my brother through the eyes of GRACE!
